It is a mass-produced, maneuverable, and expendable weapon of war designed to be unleashed in huge numbers to saturate and overcome defending fighter forces, opening the way for heavier attack craft.
The Variable Geometry, Self-Propelled Battle Droid, Mark I is commonly known as the Vulture-class Droid Starfighter or simply the Vulture droid.
